Meet your Team!
Owner/Founder
Peter Overlock started working with his father in excavation in 1987 after brief stints in the local fishing industry and construction sector. When his father decided to retire in 2004 he welcomed the chance to start his own company and take over management of the Quarry. Peter has always been an artist at heart and discovered he could apply his artistic eye to the earthwork projects he’s hired to complete. He also invested in state of the art equipment to expertly leverage what the Quarry could produce and offer locally.
VP of Operations
Tayor Overlock is a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy studying Marine Engineering Operations worked. After graduation he worked for Great lakes Great Dredging from North Carolina to Mississippi. He also spend some time landscaping at a local golf course. Taylor manages the daily operations at Hard Rock Quarry where you will find him managing and directing the daily activities at the quarry. Don’t be surprised if you see Taylor operating one of the many of the machines at Hard Rock Quarry, a real, hands-on leader!
Treasurer/VP of Chaos
Andrew Overlock is a graduate of Eastern Maine Community College where he studied welding. Taylor’s talent for being able to expertly weld anything steel has been a great asset to the company given how equipment is exposed to the harsh the environment at the Quarry on a daily basis. He also has spent many years learning from his father how to bring an expert eye to many of the earthwork projects we engage in so he has become instrumental in many of the projects we have completed in the area.
Business Mgr/Commie
Jason Parent is a graduate of University of Maine where he studied business. Early in his career after college he spent many years managing restaurants in the New England Area. Leveraging his years of experience in the food and hospitality industry he went into business with a partner to create a highly successful Seafood Business. Later in his career, Jason spent many years in the commercial fishing industry while working several short stints through the years with Peter Overlock Inc. These skills and experiencing are critical in helping managing the business and help support the growth plan.
Project Manager/Spreadsheet Guru
Craig Nelson is graduate of University of Maine where he studied Law. During school he spent several years landscaping, fence installation, lumber sales. However, the bulk of his career was spent with a local manufacturer leading Sales & Service teams and large projects. He is leveraging his years of experience in Project Management and Sales and mad spreadsheet skills assisting in the growth vision at Peter Overlock Inc.
Yard Manager/Delivery
Becca Smith is a Master Gardner with decades of experiences with various local Landscape Firms. She leverages this experience to help customers with their questions when they visit The Yard looking for the right product to help them complete their projects. When she’s not in The Yard you may find her on the road making deliveries of our fine products all over Mid-Coast Maine!
